Some years ago I met Franz Denz from Mönchengladbach who told me that the name "Denz" had been traced back to a heretic named Gaudenzio. Apparently the name was shortened to Denz when migration to Germany took place round about 390AD.
Is there anyone out there with more information please?

My father was Jack Adolf Denz, born in UK and his father was Gustav Denz born in Germany.

My Dad was Orville Denz out of Michigan, Uncle Raymond F. and Uncle Joseph Russell brothers both out of Michigan. My dad was married to Ruth.

How interesting to see the name Denz--almost a common name here. My brother's name is Edward A. Denz, but he's only 47! We used to live with ALL the Denzes, in Chicago. Do you think we're related?

My great uncle was Carl Denz. He died in Chicago in 1964. His brother, Leo, was my grandpam born in Burlington Iowa in 1889 and living most of his life in the same house in Chicago. He passed away in 1981. Are we ALL related?

My mom's side is Havel and Kuzel--also late 1800s immigrants who settled in Chicago.

I am looking for EDWARD denz , he lived in Decatur Il. in 1880 His wife's name was Elizabeth 2 children were Edward and Emily. Edward the son married Minnie Chodat 6-20-1894. Any info on this family would be a great help. Marthac@inu.net

Looking for information on a Burga Denz that married an Andreas Killias, probably in the region of Graubunden, Switzerland. Their son, also Andreas Killias, married Catharina Hitz and they had a daughter, Burga Killias who emmigrated to the USA. Burga Killias was born 31 Dec 1797.

I'm sorry. I wish I could say yes but I cann't. The Denz's are the hardest people to track. My Great Great Grandfather came from Baden: Englebert, Edwin, Edward, Alfred, Ernest, Alsie. But no Carl.
