I descend from the Dennisons, also. I believe it goes in this order: James Lewis DENNISON/Nancy ANDERSON; James Lewis Dennison/Sarah GREATHOUSE; James Russell KENNEDY/Rebecca Dennison; George Houser PICKENS/Rachel Dennison Kennedy/ William CAIN/Lois Pickens (my grandparents).

My major problem is with James Lewis Dennison. Did he marry Nancy ANDERSON? I cannot find her name in the list of children for John and Sarah Carney Anderson. Did James Lewis Dennison marry one of John and Sarah's children? I am very sure that Dennison/Greathouse/Kennedy/Pickens are correct. My grandmother who was a Pickens always said that the family names were as listed.
I can find Anderson's who went south (Alabama, Georgia, etc) but cannot find one who remained in VA, or moved west to WV. My grandparents lived in Gilmer County, WV.
As I have always lived in WV, and am relatively sure none of my direct ancestor traveled south of VA/WV, I would love to know who James Lewis Dennison married, who her family was.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
