Crawford Co., PA and Ashtabula Co., OH have a common boundary. If Louisa M. (Truax) Gehr was b. in 1838 Conneaut, Ashtabula Co., OH, as indicated at Findagrave.com, it's interesting that Jacob D. (possibly Deremer) & Sophia Trax were living with their children in Conneaut, Ashtabula, OH in 1860. In 1850, this family was in Boston, Summit Co., OH. Jacob is listed on trees at Ancestry.com as a son of Isaac Pieterse Truax of Schenectady, NY and Jacob may have d. 13 Sept. 1877 in Unionville, Ashtabula, OH. Isaac Pieterse Truax is listed on trees as having had two wives named Anna. Note that your Peter F. Truax's eldest dau. was named Anna, according to the Unplaced Truax page. When the old naming pattern was followed, the eldest dau. was named after the father's mother. According to a tree at Ancestry.com, Jacob Truax was bapt. 12 Dec. 1802 in the First Reformed Church in Schenectady. If Peter F. Truax was also baptised in that church, the bapt. record would indicate who his parents were. Isaac Pieterse Truax is listed on trees with having a son Peter Isaac Truax. That Peter m. Mary Curley and had different children, but if there were two wives named Anna, perhaps there were two sons named Peter with different middle names.
