Margaret Deemer

I'm trying to locate a Margaret Deemer who married into the Karrick family. Margaret may have been from Ohio or Pennsylvania. This marriage would have been around the mid 1800's. More in the range of 1830 to 1850 range is when it might have taken place. If anyone could help, I would appreciate it.

Thanks!!!

Jesse and Susanna Deemer are in Lancaster county, PA, in 1820, 1830, and 1840 census. I do not have any parents or siblings names for Jesse Deemer. !820 census shows Jesse Deemer ( Jese Diemer ) household of 4 persons; Jesse, Susanna, Elizabeth, and an older unknown male. Could he be a father or father-in-law to Jesse? Having difficulty locating Deemer households in Lebanon or Lancaster county during pre-1850 census. Perhaps, Jesse and Aaron Deemer are related. Good luck and keep searching.

I assume you mean that DIEMER is the correct spealling for this individual as he spelled it. I've seen my own family members (including me a few times even!) spelled DEEMER, DIEMER, DEAMER and efen DEMAR. I believe the orignal name as it came over from Germany in the early 1700s was DIEMER. My branch spells it DEEMER at least back to before the Civil War

He was married to Margaret "Mary" Miller and they lived in Coulter PA. We believe he is buried in the old St Patrick's
Cemetery in Coulter PA. I have not had a chance to confirm this with St Patrick's Church which in now located in McKeesport PA. I have other information on the family also and can share that with you. He was my g-grandfather, and I've been trying to do a little searching through the Hannah side of my family. John Carson Hannah's daughter, Olive, was my grandmother.
Hi - my great-great-grandmother was Sarah Jane Deemer, who was married to John Hannah. They lived in Kittanning, PA when my great-grandfather, John Carson Hannah, was born in 1874. Could this Sarah on your family tree be the same Sarah that is on mine?
I am looking for this ancestor who was born about 1760, most likely in eastern PA. On 6-26-1781 she married Christian Kauck in the German Reformed Church of Philadelphia. Those records show her last name as "Diemern". I can't seem to find a family with that name (perhaps the spelling is off), and can't seem to find a Christian Kauck either. Any suggestions? I've tried different spellings but to no avail. I am most likely looking in the wrong place.
Thanks much. Marianne

I do believe that I am related to those of you looking into the Deemers. I had been tracing my Miller roots back, and ended up joining with the Deemers through the marriage of Andrew N Miller to Hannah Deemer (daughter of Frederick). Frederick Deemer would appear to possibly be my 5x great grandfather. After looking through some of the Deemer research, I have found quite a few other Millers in the tree. Does anyone have any documentation on how interrelated the two families became, or is it simply coincidence.
Trace the lineage of John Frederick Deemer and Lydia Eberhardt Deemer from the Lancastertown (Lancaster, Penna.) York County area of Pennsylvania. Surely one of the sons of these two Deemers was your ancestor. I trace on the white side to these Deemer "grandparents" from the 1700s. In fact, Frederick Deemer fought against my Shawnee ancestors in the French and Indian War.

Glad that we didn't kill my white 4x great-grandfather. LOL!

Also, my cousin Susan Deemer in Indiana, Penna. has extensive files on Deemers.
She could help you.

Ken Lonewolf / Shawnee Native American Deemer family member

Greetings,

Since you live in the state of Ohio, do you know that the name of your state is from "O-Y-O", our Shawnee land west of the Ohio River?

And the Ohio River is actually the Spaylaywasipu, or "Grandmother of Rivers" which flows into the Mississipu or "Grandfather of Rivers". The white settlers named the river wrong, but named the state correctly.

Ken Lonewolf

Shawnee Deemer family member

Hi Marcus,

Some of the Millers are Seneca Native Americans now. They are mixed-bloods, who claim Native American as their primary heritage.
I see some of them at pow-wows in western Penna.

I have the Deemers that you list. If I can locate any marriages between Deemers and Millers, that I do not already have, I will let you know.
Philip Albert Deemer, Sr. is my white 4x great-grandfather, and his son Phillip Albert Deemer, Jr. was born in 1820, and he is my white 3x great-grandfather, so Nancy Miller, who was married to Albert, Sr. on Dec. 4, 1813, would be my white 3x great-grandmother from the Deemer line. The Deemers have been in America since the 1700s.

Phillip Albert, Sr.'s sister, Margaret married David Miller, and his sister Hannah married Andrew Miller, and his sister Elizabeth married Matthias Miller. So there is surely many Miller cousins in our genealogy. And many Deemer cousins are still alive today.

My cousin Susan Deemer in Indiana, Penna. has an extensive genealogy file that covers half of her basement. She would be a good contact for you.

A question! Are you aware of any of the DeMar family relatives still in France today? I know that they were Huegenots who had to leave France for Germany, and changed their surname to Deemer. Also, are there Deemers still in Germany? Just curious?

I am a mixed-blood Shawnee, myself. Shawnee is my primary heritage.

Ken "Lonewolf" Long

My e-mail address is: lonewlf99@aol.com Feel free to contact me.

Dear robinpow3,

Sorry it took so long to get back to you as I was laid up with an injury and have been recuperating. Anyway, yes Ruth was my Great Aunt and Charles was my Great Uncle. There were two more children John (Jack) and Audrey (Audy). Audy, I'm afraid just passed away on Teusday. But yes, pretty please I would love to have a copy of those pictures. That would be awesome. Also, could you tell me where exactly Wells St. was located.

Thanks,
John (Weirton)
