My Great Grandmother on my fathers side was Martha Elizabeth Deebank who married William Buckley in Birmingham. Her father was Frederick Daniel Deebank who was a master bricklayer in which there has been a line of Bricklayers in Coleshill, Warwickshire. I have traced my deebanks all the way back to the early 1700s the earliest was William deebank who married Hannah Bate.

Hi

Were your Grand parents names Samuel Deebank,b 1875 & Sarah Lucas, b 1877 ? They had two Children that I know of Percy Deebank & Leslie Deebank.
I believe that Samuel's Parents were John Deebank,b 1846 in Tonbridge, Kent, England & Angelina Hicks, b 1845 in Islington, London, England.
If this is the same Samuel then he is an older brother to my Gt Grandfather on my Mums side, Alexander Deebank, b 1878 in Hendon,Middlesex, London. My Gran Violet Deebanks 1907-1992 said that a relation of hers left England & went live in Canada in the 1900's & I believe that it is her Uncle Samuel Deebank that is the link to the Deebank side of the family in Canada.
The one good thing about the Deebank family is that we can all link up to the same family tree one way or the other.
I hope the above is of some interest to you.
Regards
Dave
Jay,

My name is Martin Deebank and I have recently started trying to piece together some family history.

So far I've only goy my branch of the family back to the early 1800s, with quite a lot of the men having been brick layers (on the railways). They certainly seem to have travelled around a lot in the 1800s, up to Lancashire, down to London and spending quite some time around Northampton and Staffordshire, although it looks like the majority of Deebank's are around and about Birmingham in Warwickshire.

I have an ancestor Called Susan or Susannah HUNTBACH b:26 Sept 1846 in Aston, Birmingham. Her parents were William HUNTBACH, b: 1816 in Warwickshire and Mary DEEBANK, bn: 1816 in Coleshill in Warwickshire.
William HUNTBACH is shown in the 1851 Census as living at 9 Baskerville Place Crescent which is right in the centre of Birmingham, he was a gun barrel grinder aged 35. Wife Mary was aged 35 and there were three children; Mary Anne HUNTBACH age 9, Emma aged 7 and my ancestor Susannah, aged 4.
In the 1851 Census of Warwickshire, living at no2 Court 3 Palmer Street, Deritend, Birmingham were Robert DEEBANK age 30 Bricklayer born in Coleshill (brother of my Mary DEEBANK perhaps?) His wife Mary A DEEBANK, 30 born in Coleshill and son William DEEBANK age 7, a scholar born in Birmingham. For any who are unaware a court was a grouping of back to back houses which signifies the family were of fairly low social standing. I am interested in any other persons who have a similar interest in DEEBANK's of Coleshill, first quarter of the nineteenth century back or HUNTBACH's of Warwickshire and Birmingham, earl to mid-nineteenth century back.

Hi! :) I am a descendant of a Deebank family line. My ancestors came from England... as far back as I can trace. The oldest ancestors I can find are Clara Heatley and James Deebank from England. If you have any information regarding the Deebank line and think you may be related to the same line as me, please email me at stillsmilin27@yahoo.com. I have been researching on and off for several years, and any clues would be greatly appreciated! :) Thanks! :)

Lisa
