I am searching for information on Rev.War rifles made in the southern states in the 1700's. These rifles would be in the style of Kentucky Long Rifles. I believe a Deckard Rifle was made in VA or TN that was used by mountain frontiersmen. Although some say the Deckard Rifle was made by Jacob Dickert in Pennsylvania, I am searching for clues that it was made by Deckards in the southern mountains. Thank you for any family stories regarding such a rifle you might like to share.
