Hi,
Do you have pictures of Martin S. Dawson and Emily Dawson's monuments?
If you do not you can type in
www.rootsweb.comClick on websites; click of United States or is it North America? The states will come up. Click on Illinois; then the counties of Illinois will come up. Click on Jefferson county. Then click on cemeteries. The cemetery is New Hope Cemetery in Jefferson county. Make sure you click on the little image in the right hand corner that enlarges the monument. It can be printed off. I copied the monuments for Martin S., Emily, Charles and his wife Nancy J.
Thanks for the info from the CW file. It is interesting what you can find in them.
I found where Martin S. Dawson purchased land in IL, 01 Sept. 1840. It looks like 40 acres in Sec 16, Township 04S, Range 05E, Vol. 818, pg 090, Illinois Public Purchase Records.
I finally found them in 1850 Illinois, Hamilton Co., Dist 10, 17 Oct. 1850
