So you said "never have been", does that mean you've known about Casey for a while? We are trying to do a pat. test but we have a newborn and Doug won't help pay for it. The information I had found was just through the internet since we obviously haven't been told anything by him. If you're on Facebook, both me and Casey are. He's under Casey Daws and I'm under Mallory Adams-Daws if you would like to contact us and see pictures of him and our daughter. My E-mail address is lilmouse_247@yahoo.com also.

Well I am Doug's niece(Carrie) and I don't feel that way about Casey.I would like to get to know all of you. I have tried to talk to Doug about Casey and I will leave it at that right now. I don't know everything, so I had better not run my mouth. But thank you for having the backbone to say something. I am not happy with the situation and never have been. The only thing I was told is "it's none of my business" which is a crock. Thanks for your reply and info. I don't know if my mom has it or not.
My name is Mallory Daws, wife of Casey Daws who is the I guess "bastard" child of Doug. He does not acknowledge the fact that Casey exists although we have recently been trying to reach out to Doug. Casey is 23 and now has a 2 month old daughter. So as of right now Casey is the last male in the line, not Doug. As for information about Frank, we were able to find a civilian draft record for WW1 that states Frank fought alongside his father Harry Marian Daws.

They were living in Twickenham at this time. If you are still researching Joseph, and have not found the full information, I can help with parents and sibling names.

Hi New Mitch,
You would be connected to our family. Thomas Thompson Laing is my husband's g g grandfather through Rosannah his daughter and her daughter Elizabeth. Do you belong to this branch?
I have most connections worked out from NSW BDM except marriage and death of a daughter. Also Thomas's parents but I think I have found Elizabeth's. Rosannah's husband's family of Bennetts also are a little difficult too.
Let me know your connection and we may be able to fill in the gaps in our research. I believe that I am related to the Thomas Thompson Laing you are refering about, but some of the information I have does not match with yours. I was wondering if you have any new information since you posted this message and would you like the information that I have (I have been finding it a bit difficult tracing this side of the family)

I chanced upon your plea for info concerning Mary Ann Daws/Peter Wilde, and I sympathize, as I too have come up against the same brick wall when trying to find out about Mary Ann's life before her first marriage in 1899.

Peter & Mary Ann were my great grand parents, and I know some stuff about them & their descendants: However, although I have been told the story of the Princess Alice disaster, I have never been able to match things up.

Naturally I am intrigued as to who your contact is, as a grandson of Mary & Peter's would be directly related to my family.

Hi does anyone have Mary Ann Daws born 1877 i think in croydon, as the family stayed in croydon and mitcham area's. This is my husbands tree, I have Mary Ann's marriage certificate she married Peter Wilde and her father was Alfred Daws, this is all i know, she has been very difficult to trace prior to marrying Peter. Another contact of mine (a grandson of Mary & Peter's) told me that Mary was raised by another family due to her parents being killed in the Princess Alice Pleasure boat disaster in 1878 on the thames, but wouldnt Alfred have been entered on the marriage certificate as deceased? Does anyone know anything of Mary Ann Daws or her father Alfred Daws?

Look forward to hearing from absolutely anyone who can offer any help. This is one part of a complicated tree that offers nothing but a brick wall

Regards

Chanine

I have been searching for a while but haven't been able to locate any information. Anything is appreciated. Thanks.

Virginia (Coomer) Cannady

We know Daniel Coomer, Sr. had more children from his first wife due to the early census reports but we don't know who they are for sure. Andrew was born about 1820 in Ky and died about 1860, 1861 in Ky. He was a shoemaker and was later blind.

Andrew's info:
First wife Clarissa Kennedy
Son Thomas H. Coomer b. 1845
Second wife Eliza Tarter b. abt 1830 in Pulaski Co., KY d. 18 Jan 1913
Children:
Sarah Ann b.23 Dec Green Co., KY, d. 1941 Monticello,KY
Willis G b. 1850 in KY
Thomas S. b. 09 May 1853 Mill Springs, KY d. 21 Jul 1932 KY
George b. 01 Aug 1854 KY d. 1855
Mary 15 Jul 1856 d. 31 Aug 1856

Daniel Coomer, Sr. marriage to Martha Epperson b. 1790 m. 18 Nov 1825

Children:
Daniel Coomer, Jr. b. abt 1830 in TN and died after 1875 in Jackson Co., TN (I'm going to have to check on the death date and get back to you on that.)
Christian Ann Coomer b. 28 Jul 1838 d. 12 Jun 1909.

On census reports, there were also a Jesse and John Coomer listed but in a book or article about the Halcomb family there was a line that inferred that Daniel Jr. and Christian (Crecy, Crissy, etc) were their only two children. I have more info, i.e., Christian had about 15 kids. You can e-mail me at hayley50@msn.com.

Hi Rose Ann
My line goes back to Daniel Coomer Sr. through Martha Epperson. I have some names I could not decide where they belong in the Coomer line but I think they may be some you are looking for. But you may already have the CD these came from. They are:

William Coomer M Mariah Ashbrook 05-Apr-1836
John Coomer M Elizabeth Burton 20-Sep-1858
Elizabeth Coomer M Israel Burton 04-dec-1839

And others from CD 002 Kentucky Marriages Pulaski Co. KY.
Some of these names I have matched up from the other coomer lines I have been in contact with.

What I have had the biggest problem with is finding the parents of Daniel Coomer Sr. Would you, by the slimest chance, have or know who might know who they are?

Will share all I have.
Doyle

Rose Ann,

Virginia told me to look up this bb string and here I am. I am researching Daniel Coomer, SR also.

In case you're interested, you can add Edward Coomer, b. 10/8/1823 possibly in Abingdon, VA, m. 1/8/1851 in Somerset, Pulaski Co, KY to Dorthulea (SP?) Tarter b. abt 1839.

I believe there is a connection between Edward and Andrew because they appear to have resided together in 1860 in Mill Springs, Wayne County, KY (U.S. Federal Census).

In my research, I have come accross the names Beasley, Tarter, and Coomer all living quite close to each other. I suspect our Daniel is out of Stokes.

Virginia,

Have you seen the 1870 census that shows a Daniel and Patsey residing with a Halcum (sp) family? (Gaines District, Pulaski County, Lincolnville post office). What was his relationship to this family, do you know?

Val

Realize this is an old posting but I have Joseph E Daws, Jr b. 22 July 1893 GA d. Nov 1974 DeKalb Co., GA m. Nov 1921, Ruby Lillian Lesley b. Sep 1896 per 1900 Census with her parents, John Harris Lesley and Sarah Clark of Anniston, Calhoun Co., AL. Ruby was a stenographer for the U. S. Gov't and after 1930 census of Atlanta, GA have been unable to find more on her. I assume that being as Joseph was a Jr. his father would have same name. The 1930 census says he served in WWI (Jr.) but have not located any proof of this. Do not know if they had children or not. Would like to know what happened to her. Did they divorce and she remarry or did she die young? Nothing regarding her death can be located. Hope someone can help.
Mary

I have been researching and I have decided that Thomas Daws is Epperson's father. In the 1820 Census of Halifax county, Meadsville, VA Thomas Daws is listed on the same page with Comer(Coomer) families. It shows males under ten being llisted for Thomas Daws. Epperson was born in Virginia around 1810. Of all the Daws' in Virginia Thomas is the only one that matches for having a boy Epperson's age. Also, Rachel Coomer, Comer, Cowan (Many census and records spell Coomer as Comer and in the cursive writing Comer also looks at times like Cowan as per Hubbard Shelby's birth registration showing by someone's deciphering as Cowan) was born in NC. Daniel her father based on various records shows up in Pulaski County, Kentucky 1810 Census and then his marriage to Rachel's mother shows up on Halifax County, Va in 1807 where Thomas Daws is residing in the 1820 census. In 1814 he marries another woman in Boone County, Kentucky and is in Stokes County, NC in the Census of 1820. Then he marries his third wife in 1825 in Stokes County, NC in 1840 and census' there after his appearance in Census' pretty much mirror Epperson's in Kentucky. Both Halifax county, Va and Stokes county, NC are border counties with the opposite state. Also, Kentucky is a border with VA. I am in the process of trying to research this further hopefully I can find out something more definite but there is to much in common with Daniel Coomer, Thomas Daws and Epperson Daws for this not to be the case. So to answer your question based on "clues" I would say Epperson's father is Thomas Daws in the 1820 Census residing in Halifax County, Meadsville, VA. What do you think??

Rose Ann

The only thing I have found is a Daniel Comer marrying a Catherine Parks on 9 Apr 1787 in Shenandoah County, VA and then a Barbara Kibler on 24 Feb 1816 but, the spelling of the last name didn't have the two O's. This Daniel Comer was born in Hawksbill Creek, VA 1766. I have his parents also but, I haven't connected them to Daniel Coomer Sr. So no I don't for a surety have Daniel Sr.'s parents just a thought.

Regards

Chanine

He was the son of William B Daws and Nancy. William was the son of Joel Daws born 1778, died 1855. I cannot find anything past this. Joel Daws the first came from Tennessee. I'm trying to figure out where the family came from before that.
