My greatgrandfather, Solomon Dawe and his father Jacob Dawe supposedly settled in Port De Grave - not sure of year. I have not been able to trace families of same. My grandmother was Susan Margaret Dawe, her brother, Cyril and sister, Fannie. I believe Cyril stayed in Cape Breton, Glace Bay and married there and had a large family. Fannie was supposed to be a post mistress in Sandy Cove, Nfld. and my grandmother married an Arthur Mark and lived out her life in Ontario.
