I am searching for information on a David Davies born in Pontyates, Carmarthenshire. As yet I have no details of the approximate date of birth. According to a family story, which seems to have been refuted, his mother was killed by a dram when taking his lunchbox to him at the local mine in Pontyates. He subsequently moved to the Rhondda Valley and married a local girl by the name of Hannah Morgan. She was a midwife and her family were conected to the Brynffynon Hotel in Llanwonno.
