Alice Faye Davenport, 86, of Eureka Rd., Edinboro, Pa.
passed away Saturday, May 23, 2015,
at The Village at Luther Square in Erie, Pa.
Alice Faye was born in Springboro, Pa., on July 11, 1928,
the daughter of the late George Wright and Isabel Worden.
Alice Faye married John on August 21, 1951. He survives. Alice Faye worked at So-Fro Fabrics, in Erie, where she was an associate for 20 years. While there, she loved helping others with any sewing needs. Later, she went to work for Visiting Nurses Association of Erie where she retired at the age of 75 from the maintenance department. In her free time, Alice Faye was an avid bird watcher and loved spending time gardening and in their log cabin in the woods. She was a 1946 Graduate of Springboro High School. She continued her education graduating in 1949 from the Practical Bible Training School of Binghamton, N.Y., and spent two years working in the Crawford County area as a Bible Club missionary. Alice Faye was a founding member of the Christ Evangelical Free Church of Saegertown and an active member there for many years. She is survived by her husband, John, of 63 years; one daughter, Pamela Gaston, and her husband, David, of Edinboro; two grandsons, Joel Gaston and his husband, Neil Welsch, of Edinboro, and Benjamin Gaston and his significant other, Alaina Miczikus, of Erie. In addition to her parents, Alice Faye was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Terry Lynn; a sister, Pauline Morris; a brother George Wright; and several nieces and nephews. Friends and family are invited to call on Wednesday May 27, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday, May 28, 2015, from noon until 1 p.m. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. at White-Cool Funeral Home, 1405 Main Street, Conneautville. Alice will be laid to rest next to her infant daughter at Spring Cemetery, Springboro. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Alice Faye to the Visiting Nurses Association of Erie, 2253 Grandview Blvd, Erie, PA. 16506.
