I am hoping someone can help. My family has not been able to find any info on my great grandfather. We have conflicting information. My father says his name was Joseph Doherty. He was born in Ireland aprox 1907. immigrated through Ellis Island and lived in St. Louis around 1920-1926. Had a daughter with Ethel Ham(born April 1907 in Indiana). Daughter is Betty Jean Daugherty born Oct 4, 1925 in St. Louis, Missouri.

The other story is that his name is Lester Daugherty, born in Missouri, aprox 1907. He was in the Navy during WWII. He was admited to Veterans hospital in Los Angeles and treated for cancer in mid 1960's

I cannot find a marriage license for Ethel and Joseph/Lester or a birth record for Betty Jean. Jospeh/Lester did move to California. Both stories say he died in mid 1960's in California.

Any help would be much appreciated!
