Thank you for your quick reply to my message. I think we have different Gilbert Dalens here. My Grandfather kept his name of Dalen. We have no Halversons in the family that anyone knows of. Your Gilbert died in 1902 which would be before my father was born in 1904! My mother and father (Ed Dalen) were married in his dad's (Gilbert) home in 1935. My dad was 27 when he married my mother and Gilbert would have been in his late 40's to mid 50's. My dad (Merriam Edmund Dalen) was Norwegien, German-Dutch and Scots-Irish. He passed away in 1977.
I will take your advice and go to the Family Tree Makers. This has been a frustrating search and I appreciate your information.
