Debbie, I now also see why some incorrectly think that Olivier Daigre came from the region in France called "La Chaussee". the previous paragraph on Page 39 talks about families that came from this region. But it doesn't say the family Daigre came from this region. It states "Arriving in acadia during the latter part of D'Aulnay's administration were the following families: d'Aigle (Daigle, Daigre) , etc,.
