I am descended from David Sydney Dabbs through his son Robert Huntley. I know he died in the Civil War. None of the material I've seen shows R.H. married, but our family Bible and other documents (as well as my grandmother) show that he married Mary Elizabeth (Bettie) Williams in 1858 and went to MS. He joined the Confederate army there and died, I believe, of cholera. His wife and young son John (Gus)returned to Anson Co. where they lived with her parents, John Dudley and Caroline Liles Williams. John later married Ann Eliza Clark and bought back the original Liles house by Lilesville.

I'd really like to hear from anyone with any information on any of these families. I've got a bit on the Huntley-Webb-Knotts, but can't figure out definitively who David Sydney's father was. Someone has said Josiah, son of Nathaniel, but I can't find any documentation. I have a good bit on the Liles, but am stuck with the Williams as well. I'd be grateful for any ideas or information.
