Such a coincidence, my sister is Nancy Ciliotta - I am searching for Mario Ciliotta and trying to figure out where he fits in my family tree. My grandfather was Lorenzo Ciliotta, his father was Giuseppe Antonio Ciliotta, whose father was Lorenzo Franceso Ciliotta. Giuseppe Antonio Ciliotta had six children - 3 with Maria Maddalena Marinello - Lorenzo, Giuseppina Oliva and Giovanna Regina, then 3 with Maria Antonia Giacchetti - Mario, Maria and Giuseppe G.. Have been workingon family tree and looking for more info. Can you give me more info on the names of children and the grandchildren's names.

HI Nancy, so funny I have a sister Nancy Ciliotta. You said your grandfather was Mario Ciliotta, Mario Ciliotta in my family tree was my grandfather's half-brother, born 5/25/1895. He had a sister Maria and brother Giuseppe and half sisters Giuseppina Olivia and Giovanna Reginna and half-brother Lorenzo, who was my grandfather. Mario had a daughter Fernanda who married Leone Agnoli. Fernanda's brothers Livio and Giuseppe went to Peru and married and raised their children there.
Do you Know a Donald Ciliotta who I believe is the son of a Mario Ciliotta who had two sons Donald and Mark who are about 52 and 49 years old.

My grandmother was Angelina Agnoli (1895-1979) who was from Valle diCadore. She married Lawrence Ciliotta. Lawrence passed away around 1928 and Angelina remarried Geno (not sure of full name) Del Favero. Any information anyone has would appreciate it. twocrabs2002@yahoo.com or faceboook

My grandmother was Angelina Agnoli (1895-1979) and she was from Valle diCadore. I believe her mother's name was Regina. Could you great-grandfather be related to Daniele or Eliseo Da Giau?
Daniele (b. 1898 Valle di Cadore - d. 1983 Clifton, Passaic, NJ) married Geltrude Assunta Del Favero (b. 1900 Valle di Cadore - d. 1983 Clifton, Passaic, NJ) and had a child after 1922 (when they got married).
Eliseo (b. 1900 Valle di Cadore - d. 1982 Clifton, Passaic, NJ) married Giovanna Agnoli (b. 1902 Valle di Cadore - d. 1988 Clifton, Passaic, NJ) in 1925.
Daniele and Eliseo were brothers and their father's name was Giuseppe Da Giau (1853 - 1921 in Valle di Cadore), who married Regina Carmelitana Del Favero (1859 - Unknown).
Maybe your great-grandfather could have been Eliseo's or Daniele's son...

I'm studying parish archives and bulletins and old photos from Da Giau's house in via Antelao, Valle di Cadore (BL), Italy.
My mother's name is DA GIAU GIULIANA and his grandfather was LUIGI DA GIAU (married with GIULIA MARINELLO).
Luigi had 2 brothers (FRANCESCO ANTONIO b. 6 aug 1876 - d. 1 may 1945 and GIUSEPPE b. 23 jul 1878 - d. ?) and one sister (MARIA MADDALENA married Cesaro b. 25 nov 1884 - d. ? ).
They were Giambattista Da Giau and Maria Giovanna Colle's children. (Giambattista b. 28 sep 1845 - d. 21 dec 1888) (Maria Giovanna b. 11 jun1850 - d. 15 jan 1931)
Francesco married with GIULIA LUIGIA CHIAMULERA (b. 26 apr 1883 - d. 16 dec 1956).
They had 3 children: Jennie (married Dassonville), Rena Ida (married Huber) and Frank U.
Moreover I know that Giovanni Antonio Da Giau ("Nin") (b. 23 aug 1911 - d. 9 feb 1973), one of Luigi's children, migrated to the USA in 1928 and went to stay by Frank Anthony Da Giau, his uncle
I don't know if we are related in some ways but I think it'd be nice to share informations, photos and stories with you and your husband...maybe our roots are common

I'm pleased to know that you liked my birthplace..I miss it..I hope we could help each other discover some interesting things about our roots. I can suggest you the site www.piccioli.com/genealogia, created by a man who studied the parish archives in Valle and reports all the informations he found there, with photos too.
Moreover, I'm studyin on my own the parish bulletins and old photos found in my grandparents' house in via Antelao, so I could give you some informations too.

my name is Nancy Ciliotta. My grandfather (Mario Ciliotta)came to America from the Valle. He married and had three sons. Through those three sons he had 14 grandchildren. We all live on Long Island, New York. I took a trip Italy last year to find my roots and was amazed at the beauty of the land that my ancestors came from. I fell in love and plan a return trip soon. Hey there,
I married into the Da Giau family but am trying to help my husband fing history on his family. I don't know very much at all except that it's italian. He wont tell me anything really...like who his grandparents are or aunts and uncles on his fathers side. So I have no idea where to start.
He wont tell me anything pertaining to his father,because they don't get along.
But yet he wants to find famiy history.
His father,his 2 brothers and twin sister live in montana.

I am another member of the Ciliotta family, we live in Lima, Peru, South America, my father and my uncle came from Valle di Cadore near 1950. We are a small family here in Lima. My father Giuseppe Ciliotta del Favero still alive, but my uncle Renzo died 8 years ago. My aunt Fernanda still living in Valle de Cadore.

My family is also from Valle De Cadore. I believe we had a great great uncle named Frank DaGiau however after my grandfather (Valerio DaGiau) came to America via Ellis Island they settled in Clifton New Jersey. Here is the information I have re the DaGiau family: Giulia Chiamulera DaGiau 1883-1956 married Frank Antonio DaGiau (1876-1945) Children were Jennie DaGiau Dassonville (Gerald R.) 1906-1994; Rena Ida DaGiau Huber (1908-1984) and Frank U. DaGiau (1910-1977). Giulia was my grandfather, Amedeo's sister.

Thanks for your reply. According to the California death records, a "Frank DaGiau was born on 11/26/1910 - dies in Yolo in Feb 1977. Is this your father? I am the son of Frank U. Dagiau but according to my birth certificate he was born in montana. my birth year is 1960 at the time he was 46 I do not have much else to go on though I was born in california

My grandfather's (Americo Agnoli's) sister was Emma Agnoli (married named was Emma Ciliotta). She stayed in valle di Cadore. He married Louise Weber (now Agnoli) and lived in Hawthorne, NJ as a contractor. His son and daugther were William and Arlene.

I am looking for the daughters and son of Frank Dagiau. He married my grandfather's sister, Giulia Chiamulera. They were both from Valle di Cadore and settled in Sacramento, California. My parents visited them in the late 1940's, but that is the last contact we have had. I found their death dates in the California Social Security records. One of the daughters has a French sounding married name and may have moved to San Francisco. A first cousin of mine married an Angelo DaGiau. They live in Lima, Peru. Da Giau Family in America

I am looking for information and/or extended family of my great-grandfather, Valentino Da Giau, who came to the US from Valle di Cadore, Italy. I believe that he left Italy in the early 1880's and first went to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan before finally settling in Chicago. His name was changed at some point to Dagian, apparently because of how he wrote it. He was born in 1857 and died in 1935 and was one of six children born to Luigi and Giovanna (born Ciliotta). If you have any information I would love to hear from you and share the information that I have.
