I am looking for information and/or extended family of my great-grandfather, Valentino Da Giau, who came to the US from Valle di Cadore, Italy. I believe that he left Italy in the early 1880's and first went to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan before finally settling in Chicago. His name was changed at some point to Dagian, apparently because of how he wrote it. He was born in 1857 and died in 1935 and was one of six children born to Luigi and Giovanna (born Ciliotta).
