Researching Czolowski surname. Family of Leon and Anna nee: Winicki/Vinicki Czolowski and three known children; MaryAnn, Elizabeth and Domicela (Dorothy), emigrated from Luka, Poland (Galicia, now Ukraine) 1914 to US. Resided in Chester, Philadelphia and Chambersville, PA. Leon b. ca 1865 d. 1936 was the son of Josef and Catharina nee: Bandrowski Czolowski.
Trying to make a possible connection with other Czolowski families who have lived in Canada, NY and NJ. I do know the Czolowski surname has had many different variations in spelling and has been changed to Choloski in some families.
I have acquired some records of Czolowski families in Luka that do not seem to tie in to mine and will gladly share these records with any interested in exchanging Czolowski information.

I'm researching the Czolgosz family who settled in Michigan. I have found it spelled many ways.Is there a possibility that Czolowski and Czolgosz may be variation of same name? Most of my family were from Gora, Poland. There are some Czolgosz's in New York. I have not been able to connect to my tree. Maybe, they are the connection you are looking for. Good luck in your research. Vivian

Thank you for pointing out the Czolgosz surname to me. Although I have seen the name before I don't believe there is any connection between that surname and mine. Even with the many variations and misspellings of my surname I have never seen anything that would even suggest a connection between the two names. Sorry I can't be more helpful but best wishes with your research.
