CONWAY, S.C. – Imogene F. “Jean” Czoka, 92, formerly of Girard, Ohio and of Youngstown, Ohio passed away peacefully Sunday morning, Feb. 5, 2012, at Conway Medical Center.
Imogene was born Feb. 17, 1919, in Warren Township, a daughter of the late Daniel J. and Hazel M. Kollars Lutz, and lived most of her life in Ohio until moving to Conway in June of 2003.
She worked at Langley’s Deli in Newton Falls, Ohio, various local bakeries, and as a housekeeper for Dr. Mathie and his family.
Jean was a member of St. Rose Church in Girard, OH. (Trumbull County)
She enjoyed bird watching, taking photographs, and being with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Imogene leaves two sons, John H. (Connie) Czoka of Liberty Township, Ohio and Thomas R. (Laurie) Czoka of Concord, N.C.; four daughters, Linda A. (Michael) Renzenbrink of Verona, Pa., Karen L. (Don) Keeley of Myrtle Beach, Nancy J. (Bob) Altman of Conway, and Arlene M. Kloos of Niles, Ohio; two brothers, Clyde (Ginny) Lutz of Ravenna, Ohio and Thomas (Beverly) Lutz of Newton Falls, OH; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Her husband, John J. Czoka, whom she married Nov. 18, 1948, passed away Oct. 21, 1988. Two sisters, Geraldine Zelina and Hazel Ford, and two brothers, Daniel and Robert Lutz, are also deceased.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 North Meridian Road, Youngstown.
Funeral services will begin at 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home and continue with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at noon at St. Rose Church in Girard, OH.
Interment will follow at Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Canfield, OH.(Mahoning County)
