I'm searching for information about my GGM Maria Jesko Smar (Czmar). Born in Czechoslovakia abt1856. Married John Czmar abt 1876 in Czechoslovakia. Immigrated to Olean, N.Y. abt 1912, later moving to Detroit, MI. Had five daughters and two sons. After John's death in Detroit in 1925, lived with daughter Katie Androyna in Detroit until Marie's death in 1936. Any information correcting and/or adding to above data is appreciated. Death dates and cemetery information would help. Thank you.

Can you locate church marriage record of the daughter Katie ANDROYNA? That is some "?" american spelling which in SSDI only shows up in Michigan. They must be all related.

Did Katie marry someone from her parents' old country neighborhood? Maybe not being that ANDROJNAs arriving thru NY Ellis Island are not coming from any locations from former Hungary that would be now present Slovakia.

Find ANDROJNA in Slovenia's phone book.

Yes, Katie (Katherine) is a Czmar, probably from Dulova Ves, as was her father and brother. The information I have is that Louis Androyna was born in Yugoslavia (Slovenia), immigrated to USA in 1910. Katie immigrated in 1912 to Detroit, and married in Detroit in 1913.
When Maria Yesko Czmar was widowed in 1925, she lived with the Androynas in Detroit until her death, about 1936.
Much of my information is from the U.S. Census, 1930 & 1940. Actually all of the Czmar children ended up in Michigan early on.
Church records not readily available to me, and all of Katies children are dead or well in their 90's if living.
Thanks again for your interest.

I'm trying, Ken.
So than Katie and Louis already knew English as Slovak and Slovenian are Slavic but not close. Only Czech and Slovak are 90% similar.
I was hoping for Katie's church marriage record to provide you with mother's maiden name.
