Not sure if the family name Cziffer is spelt correcly nevertheless am recording my connection to the name.
My late Mother In Law was Borishka Breuer nee Cziffer. She was married to Zoltan Breuer and lived in Papa Hungary until they left in 1956 for Melbourne Australia. She had 3 children Kathy, Alex and Susan. I was married to Susan. Borishka was an Aushwitz survivor with a tattoed number on her arm.
Borishka told me her father worked in the Navy prior to WW2 as a cook I believe. She had a brother who survived the war who became some official in the Hungarian Communist party and they were estranged. He may have hidden his Jewish roots whereas Borishka always remained an orthodox Jewish lady.
Borishka had a surviving relative (nephew or cousin) who was at Aushwitz called Duci Rechnitzer. He eventually also made his way to Australia (Sydney) and married Eva and had 2 children named Les and Rose. (his first family, wife and children perished at Aushwitz). Duci passed away some years ago.
Am recording this for posterity.
