spelling variations from St. Adalbert's cemetery
I just received information from St. Adalbert's cemetery in Chicago regarding some of my Czekala relatives. They provided two more variations of the spelling of the name: CZEHALA ZEKALA
Also in one Czekala/Czehala plot were persons named: Marunek, Mazurek, Piotrowski, Piatrowski.

Hello Janice, re: Also in one Czekala/Czehala plot were persons named: Marunek, Mazurek, Piotrowski, Piatrowski.
Do you have any birth info or parents names or cities where these people might be born? My Zekala's seem do be from the Minsk, Belarus area.

Re: spelling variations from St. Adalbert's cemetery
Hi Monica, The other names don't match anything I have at this time so I guess that wasn't my Czekala group. My Czekala family were baptised in Nowogrod from about 1869 to 1881. Two of the siblings were not on the information from the Church so I don't know where they were baptised. I think they lived in Ruda Osoweicka which was in that parish during those years. Do you go to St. Adalbert's often? I live in Florida so have never been. Good luck on your search.

Re: spelling variations from St. Adalbert's cemetery
Hello, Thanks for getting back to me. I've never been there... I don't even know where it is. My grandmothers line is Zekala and I've found death information on my gr grandfather and birth year and place. I haven't found parent information for him yet. I believe he had siblings that also came to this country so I was hoping for a "back door". The search continues. Thanks again. Monica
