Wladyslaw Czajka...

Surnames: Czajka
was my grandfather. I have located his Passenger List stating that he came to Canada in 1927 aboard the Aurania. On this record he stated his home town as being Zarzecze. He was in the Polish Army before he left but he kept getting promoted so fast that he felt war was coming and he left. I know he had a rather large family (by today's standards) with around 7 sisters. I do believe that he had some land in Poland (left to him as he was the only male) but he transferred the land to one (or more) of his sisters, who had farmed it all her life, before he died. I'm wondering where he fits in the Czajka family tree. Any information would be appreciated.

Thank you for your response. How was Wladyslaw your uncle? Were you one of his sister's children? If so, then you and my Mom would be cousins. She was born in 1933 and she is living in Toronto as well. I know my grandfather used to write to someone named Gregory in the U.S.A. Do you know this person?

Thank you Frank. I look forward to your response.
