I was just able to find alot of Czaja's in the Chicago Census records, and was wondering if anyone can add some information:
John Czaja - born in Poland, married Mary Kitowska (born in Poland about 1836). She immigrated around 1887
They had four children. They are:
Joseph Czaja (born on the Russian Polish border about 1859) immigrated about 1885
Anastasia (Anastazya) Czaja (born on the Russian Polish border about 1865) immigrated about 1887
Alexander Czaja (born on the Russian Polish border about 1866) immigrated about 1887
Catherine (Kathryn) Czaja (born on the Russian Polish border 31 May 1875/1876 - two different ages in two different census entries) - This is my grandmother.
---------------------
Joseph Czaja married Frances Suida (born on the Russian Polish border about 1864). They married about 1887 She immigrated in about 1883, bore 9 children, only 4 still living in 1910
They children with approximate birth years were found int the census records.
Josephine (born in Illinois about 1897) who remained single through 1930 and was a telephone operator
Frances (female - born in Illinois about 1898)
Harriet (born in Illinois about 1901) who remained single through 1930 and was also a telephone operator.
Then I have Edward, Lawrence, Mary, Angela and Helen - which adds up to nine total, with 4 living.
--------------------
Anastasia married Matthew Klatt
--------------------
Alexander married Rosie Jurczykowski around 1892. She was born around 1875 on the border between Germany and Poland and immigrated around 1881/1882

Catherine (Kathryn) married John Patzke on August 28, 1894. John was born in Poland, and immigrated about 1890. One of their four children was my grandmother. The children are:
Agnes Pauline Patze (my grandmother) born Feb 24, 1899 in Chicago, Illinois
Henry Patzke, born January 25, 1901 in Chicago, Illinois
Virginia Patzke born Sept 12, 1903 in Chicago, Illinois
