Frank,
Thanks for responding to my message. I am currently waiting for my grandparents birth certificates to arrive from Ct. My mother is sending them to me, and due to very slow mail in Fl, I probably won't receive them until next week. Upon looking the ceritficates over, she did tell me that the towns in which my great grandparents were born were listed, but she didn't give me the names...so I'm waiting...I will send another message as soon as I get the information-maybe there'll be a connection. Pam (No, I don't speak any Polish)

hi Pam and Frank, I am researching for our family tree also(gets into the blood) czaja's are my husbands family line.Pam you talked of Eva M Floryan being your ggrandmother. They also were my husbands ggparents. His grandparents were Anthony and Blanche Tocci(nee czaja) of conneticut actual last address was berkley Heights new Jersey. Blanche was born 10/6/1911and passed away 6/1/1987. I too have some holes but so far have as her brothers and sisters to be:John, Stanley, Phil,Frank, Florian(maybe Floryan),Bill,Tony, and Mary.I have not got dates etc. yet but when I saw Franks message thought that maybe he was the brother or a nephew. You are right in that a whole generation have passed, but there are still many of their family out there.I look forward to any information that we can learn from each other I agree it is definately a familiar connection. ps It does feel super to be able to answer someone elses question for a change. keep up the good work and maybe we will be able to solve some of the mystery in the family. connie

Connie, My grandmother was Antionette Bloch nee Czaja...aka "Toni"!! She was the sister of Blanche Czaja nee Tocci. I have an entire listing of all the children of Eva M. Floryan and Felix Jan Czaja, all their birth and death dates, and where they are buried. The children are: John F., Antionette Genieve, Felix P., Mary, Blanche, Florian, Stanley J., William, and Joseph. All the children were born in East Haddam or Moodus, CT. Eva and Felix were both born in Poland. Eva in Dlicgis(?) and Felix in Dolcrawislka (?). I recently received a copy of my grandmother's birth certificate, and these were listed as the birth places of her parents. You may want to get Blanche's birth certificate from the East Haddam town hall, and see if the towns listed on her's are the same. Anyways, I have a ton of stuff to share! Pam Is your husband Sally's son?

Connie, Upon going through my notes this morning, I remembered that when I was at the East Haddam town hall finding info on the Czaja's, I found that Blanche Czaja's birth certificate is not listed as Blanche Czaja...it is listed as "Bhumsuara Caja" born 10/6/11. This my help you if you're considering requesting a copy of her birth certificate. A lot of the polish names listed are spelled really funny. My grandmother's name on her birth certificate is "Pentonina Caja". I was only 9 years old when Blanche died, but I remember it clearly since my grandfather died the same year. My grandmother was very close to her sister, I remember her having a list of telephone numbers next to her phone with Blanche at the top of the list. They talked to each other all the time. When Blanche and Tony would come to visit, they would stay with Aunt Eva, who lived in the Czaja house in East Haddam. My grandmother lived 4 or 5 houses down the road and she would walk down to visit. When we went down, Nicki and Gloria would be there and I would play with their kids. I am so glad that you looked at the message board and responded! My grandmother died this June, and I really have the need to know whatever I can about her and her family. I want my son to know her someday. Hope to here from you soon. Pam

hi pam! Yes my husband is Sally's son.Raymond James Jr.You do have a lot of information already. Do you live in conneticut? We are in minnesota.I have done a lot on my family and have just started collecting information on Rays side. It has some definately interesting people. His Mom has been helpful in general, but I think she kind of feels like Ray in that other than grandparents who cares...I do. But you should have seen the look on his face when I said I have a trivia question for you who or what is "bhumsuara caja" He said I don't know and I said your grandmother. I was great thank you for that.I don't have dates yet but the more infor you have the easier to piece the puzzle. Have you any knowledge yet of either Felix or evas parents? Did anastazya and felix have any children ? What is Franks middle name or initial? There are so many questions yet.I will work some more on what I have. Please feel free to reach me at unionist@brainerd.net I will stay in contact with this page also. Was Frank(replyer to earlier message) related too for a minute I thought so. catch ya later it is time to work.

trying to get hold of you lost email address....
I lost your new email address when you moved. Also I received am email from Mike Dawson that requested your address email as he was looking for Dudek. Perhaps you could give him a hand and visa versa, Dear Connie, Like you, I am researching my family. Reading the message board on Family History.Com, you were corresponding with Pam Gronback about your family ties. In earlier messages she mentioned the Dudek name which was my grandfathers surname. My family has lived in the Middletown, East Haddem, and Colchester area since the turn of the century. I know many of the later generation of the Czaja and Golec families Pam mentioned. My grandfather knew and worked with many of them. If you would have Pam contact me, it would-be greatly appreciated. It was a real thrill to think that I may be getting close to some answers . Sincerely Michael Dawson 128 windham Ave. Colchester, Ct. mdawson01@snet.net

Hi Connie! Hope you had a Merry Christmas! I got your message and responded to Michael Dawson. I'm so excited that there are so many people interested in the Czaja family. I didn't think I would ever find answers to any questions I had. To think I may actually get some is a great feeling. I hope you are having success with your quest! Have a Happy New Year! My email address is: gronback @acm.org Ciao! Pam Gronback
