My son's paternal grandmother was Annette Cytron Komm of St. Louis MO. Family was Russian or Lithuanian Jewish. Annette born in St.L. in 1901 and died 1993. Brothers Louis and William, also dec. There are a lot of Cytrons -- many in Social Security death index which provides lots of useful info.

I am from St. Louis. There were some Cytron's that owned a drug store in U. City (an older suburb of St. Louis) who I understand aren't closely related to us. My sister has done some research on this.

The U.City drugstore Cytron was - as I recall - Louis, brother of my son's grandmother Annette Komm, who died in L.A. in 1993. I think he died in August 1961; I recall visiting the house where they were sitting shiva. There was another brother William, died 1974. I'm trying to put together a family tree for my son and I'd appreciate any information your sister may have.

Continuation of preceding message. I also have a record of a Goldie Cytron, born October 1897, 4 years before Annette, and died in March 1985. Also a David, born 12/1897 and died 11/1971; Leo born 2/1903 and died 12/1969; and Julius, born 9/1902 and died 4/1967. I don't know how any of these folks fit into our family tree, if at all. I got names from SS death index and they were all from the St. Louis area. As I said, I welcome all informatioon. My address is 236 Ridgewood Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94127. Thanks.

I can identify Julius Cytron. He was my grandfather. He was born in Belogorodka, which is in the present day Ukraine in the region of Volhynia (a.k.a. Wolyn). He immigrated to St. Louis in 1921. Other related families were Lerner, Lederman, Gasmer, and Shanker.
Please feel free to contact me for more information.

Hi. There appears to be a branch of the Cytron family that went from Russia to England, stayed a while and then some of them came to the USA. The largest branch of these stayed in St. Louis, MO. I don't know for certain if it is the same family but maybe you can add your input and we will find out. Please also contact Ellen Fleischman. She is also on JewishGen. Arlene
