hello,
I am interested too...
My Father is Anthony James Cyster and my paternal Grandfather is James Cyster (both of Folkestone). I am certainly interested to trace any Cysters at all, let alone in the area! I have always been curious about the origins of the name anyway, any ideas?

Joanne and all looking for Cyster's. I started researching the cyster family tree
many years ago and finally located Alan Cyster. Between the 2 of us ( Mostly Alan)
we were able to put together a fairly substantial tree. We have at least 10 generation
dating back to before 1781 and over 1200 names. And yes, all the names we found are
related to us. Alan andI are Fifth cousins. I am a bit rusty on all the details as
I have not looked at our family tree for about 5 years. If you can provide more specific
details as to marriages, dates etc. maybe I or Alan can be of help. Alan lives in Hemel Hempstead
and his E-mail is cyster@cyster.screaming.net Alan is a new Dad so does that explain
the screaming?? I live in Calgary, AB Canada. hope to hear from you.

If we have the same Alan Cyster in Canada, then I am also related. My mother was Vivian Cyster, daughter of Albert Francis Cyster. He was born in Glencoe, Canada. My grandfather had siblings John, Mary, Phyllis, Mae, Lorraine, Cathleen, Margaret, Neil, Phillip, and Alex. If this is all one in the same could you please e-mail me what you have then possibly I can add more information. Thank You

Hi Nancy, yes I have met Allen in Ontario. I recieved a great deal of info from him when I met him several years ago. Your grandfather Albert Francis Cyster is the son of Albert Sydney Cyster,
son of John Cyster. John Cyster is the brother to my grandfather William Cyster. My Dad's name is Alan as well. There is quite a generation gap between the cousins as William married late in life.
I could send you the descendents of William Cyster if you are interested. How will I reach you?

cyster family info.

My sister (Emma Cyster - also of Folkestone, Kent) has already been in contact with Alan Cyster (our Grandfather's cousin), and is doing her own investigation that way (by snailmail!). It is really nice to know that there are other Cyster's out there, and I am particularly interested to know where/what the name originates from. Any ideas?!
