I am looking for cesefske, but it has many different spellings as I have found out.My branch settled in Port Huron, Michigan- but came fron Chicago - from Poland/Germany. Frank Cesefske and Barbara Tessman Cesefske would have first settled in Chicago, with the following children - Michael, Albert, Paul, Stanley, Theodore and possibly a Helen and a Rose. I have been talking with Jill from Mn. about being related - she spells her name diferently. If you have not been talking to her , let me know.

Hi Christine!!! Gosh- it's been ages since we've seen each other!Great to hear from you!!! Do you live in Port Huron?I live in Indiana now. I appreciate your email. I 'm actually trying to go further back. Grandpa had the following brothers and sisters, John, Michael, Theodore(killed in WWI), Rose,Helen,
Benjamin(possibly-not sure of that name), Frank, Paul and Albert. Also a sibling that died- but I don't know if it was in Michigan, Germany-Poland or Chicago. His father(our great-grandfather) was Frank Cesefske(mis-spelled on his death certificate as Cesefake) and his wife was Barbra Tessman(not sure of spelling). Both are buried in the north end of town.I'm trying to find out where in Chicago that Grandpa used to visit, so I can look the family up in the census. I would also like to find out where they immigrated from and what happened to all the siblings. A picture of Frank and Barbra Cesefske would be great also. Would your mom remember Grandpa going to Chicago? If so - where at? If I get any more information- I'll let you know . Thanks for writing!!!!
Take care- Sandy

Yes i do Live in Port Huron. I have two sons. No John and Benjamin. One of his siblings name was Mary died in Chicago. My mom said he only went to see his sister Roses, married name adoski her husband name Benjamin adoski. She lived at 2121 North Avers Ave Chicago. Immigrated from Germany. WE don't have no picture of Frank or Barbara. Just thre one that Grandpa had in his front room. Frank was tall and slim had a beard ,he looked just like Abraham Lincoln. Barbara was short and Chubby. Grandpa never talked about his side of the family. so don't know about that side of his family. My mother asked Uncle Stan some questions? So I hope this will help u. Take care hope to hear from u soon.

Thank you!! Yes, that helps - but confuses me. The census says that she had 10 children.
I didn'd know the name of the one that died. As for benjamin - my mom went and saw Aunt Rose and she thought that there was a Benjamin in the family. So that's how - by marriage. Is there any way I could get a copy of the picture? You could get ahold of my brother Freddy or my sister- Julie Spana( Anthony Spana) - Julie could make a copy.
Would you have Uncle Stan's number?? I'd like to call him. You can e-mail me at sandycesefske@cs.com if you would. Or call
and give my sister your number and I'll call
you. This is so helpful, I can't thank you enough. I don't remember the picture in the living room - that's why I'd like a copy.
Thanks again!!! Please email me or call!!!!

Did Uncle Stan get the name and address from a letter? Would he let me have a copy? This is so helpful- I can't thank you enough. I did dend away for grandpa's birth certificat. I wanted to find an address where he lived in Chicago - then I could find the family in the 1900 census. It hasn't come back yet - so I am going to get a city directory for Chicago - probly 1896 or so to look up the address. It may have children listed also. Would you like copies of the census and the information my mom got from death certificates? I'll be happy to mail them or send them over the net. I am also going to send away for Theodore's military record. I would like to also know what date he died and if he is buried in France or somewhere overseas. He is not in the cemetary with Frank and Barbra - but my mom said that there is a grave there and no one knows who it is. Interesting. Thanks again and please get in touch with me.
