Hi, I am a Bessette and am looking for anyone who has a member of their family connected to mine. George Crye who was born in 1853 in Illinois married Julie Bessette who was born on Sept. 19, 1840 at Henryville, Quebec, Canada. Julie's parents are Cajatan and Eleanore (Nadeau) Bessette. Cajatan (who may be known as Cassel) was born 8-6-1812 in Marieville, Rouville, Quebec Canada and Eleanore was born in 1805 in Marieville. We are trying to confirm this and would like to contact anybody who has these names in their family tree. Hope someone can connect. Duane Bessette

Hi, we have exchanged info before. Just wanted to add to your information on Cajetan. Cajetan was the father of François born in Fowler, Indiana, Aug. 21, 1847 who married Philomene Regnier Aug. 20, 1876 in Kankakee, Ill.
"According to her grandson Arthur Thomas Sénésac Philomene was a very beautiful lady and full of life. She was 5 feet 3 inches and had bright black eyes, black hair and her skin was light brown. She also had no inclination for religion. With her second husband Frank Bessette they lived on a farm north of Fowler, Indiana and it is during this period that Florence and George were born. Later they moved to Newton, Illinois and they moved a last time to Bradley, Illinois where they died."
Godparents of Philomene were: Joseph Mitchell and Angelique Regnier. Angelique signed.
