Have just started cataloging photos of the Montana branch of the Cyr Family. I have no way of contacting most of those in the photos But would love to share them with you if they belong to your family. Clara Modeste John R. Cyr (married in 1900) and their children with the surnames (besides Cyr) Nooney, Ferrlan, Shinn, Eiden, Albert Bedard. I also have the family tree traced through the Cyr/Therriault (paternal) sides to 1601. Yell if you're one of our long losts ;)

My mother Catherine Cyr Gagnon was born in St. David , Maine (Aroostook County) I have seen pictures of her relatives in Montana. My mother was born in 1900. She had an older brother who had gone to Montana for the purpose of bringing a cousin back to mAINE. tHAT WOULD HAVE BEEN EARLY, AS HE WAS IN WW1 and died probably around early 30,s. His name was Donat Cyr. So I had heard my mother mention Montana quite often. One of the photos was of a priest of mixed race, mix with Japanese. These relatives were cousins of my mother's family. Vital and Odile Martin Cyr, my grandparents. My mother had teacher cousins who went to Cuba, Puerto Rico, South America. They probably had attended what is Now University of Fort Kent where three of my mother's sisters graduATED, AT THE TIME IT was , MADAWASKA Training School. My Aunts attending before WW1 :Madeleine , Olive and MaryAnn. My mother's other siblings were Fred(Alfred) , Henry, Delina ,Flavie. I know some corresponded. Very interesting to me, as I do genealogy ,and have my mother's family .Please let me Know what I may be able to see. Thank you , love what is happening with this computer, even if should prove not to be immediate family---it is family!

If you run across any photos of Alexis Cyr and wife Modeste Peltier Cyr before 1890, I would be very interested. Also, if there are any Cyrs at the St. Igantius Mission after 1890 in your Cyr files, I would be interested. Other than that, pictures of Eli, Jerome, Eddie Cyr in the Frenchtown as children would be nice. I think I have found one of Eddie with classmates in a Frenchtown picture. Thank you, just for offering and keeping a watch out. Dani Lee

In response to your inquiry: I have many pictures of my Gran (now 88) when she was a young girl in Frenchtown. School Pictures, working the ranches, "skip day", with a general feeling of what life was like. Unfortunately, we can only identify some of the many folks in the pix, but if you had family there, I'm sure you'll enjoy them. Please send me your email address so we can discuss it.

Catherine Cyr marry ? Charles Gagnon
Just curious if Catherine married Charles. If so could we share info. Sharon Cyr rdcyr1@prodigy.net

I am researching Flavia Cyr whom married Joseph Migneault(Mayo) in Maine. In my notes I noticed the name Gagnon. I'm not sure where this name belongs, but while checking I found Cyr-Gagnon in the Maine research websites, under marriages...maybe a lead for you. Good Luck.

Do you have a birth date for Flavia/Flavie Cyr? Have many in my file but none married to a Migneault/Mignot/Migneau.
|
Sharon, thanks for your respond. I do not have a date. This couple had only two children; Agnes Mary b. 7-25-1900 and Emaline Marie b. 1902 and is still living. The Cyr name is new to my files. Just recently I was at a reunion and learned of this name. So my search here has just begun. I found a Flavie Cyr listed with the L.D.S. this could be a lead? My husbands Grandmother says they were from France>Quebec>Vanburen,Maine. If this is not a connection to you , I'd appreciate you keeping me in mind if ever you come across this person. TREENMARIE@AOL.COM. THANK-YOU!
