Hi Odile, I saw your message and have to ask, my grandfather was Wilfred Joseph Cyr, born 1923in Metheun, MA s/o Paul and Corinne Bourgeios. Corinne was born 1899 in Bayville, Canada(whereever that is). Wilfred was raised in Holyoke,MA and died 1983 at an early age(about 60). I have not seen Manie listed yet, but, I still have to find a death cert. for Paul Cyr.Corinne d/o Philippe and Corinne Bergeron.
If you can help, thanks,
Denise Conti

Bayville is really Baieville or Baie-du-Febvre, on the southern coast of the St-Lawrence River, opposite Trois-Rivieres, Quebec. There are many Acadian families located in this environs.

My family is not related to the Cyrs, but my Grandfather owned a ranch and about 300 acres and was one of the residences off the Cyr exit for nearly 50 years. His last name was Schmidt and he originally bought the property from Mary Dagle, who owned a large chunk of land in that valley between the clark fork and the hills. Additionally, my aunt had lived in what was the old lodge and gas station on the "old" freeway which is now the connector between the Fish Creek Exit and Exit 70. That was once the original coal and water refueling stop for trains and what I assume to be the original Cyr town. You kind find old trash, car frames and reminates of old structures on the bank to the river. I would say there has been consistently about 25 people living off the Cyr exit over the years and now there are more as the land has been sold and sub divided. Feel free to write if you have more questions about Cyr, Montana.

Did you receive any photo's by chance. My Grandma Edna Cyr Bousquet Schulke was a daughter of Laurent Cyr also of Frenchtown, MT. When I looked under my grandfathers name of Francis Bousquet born 1900 in Montana, there shows some of my grandma's lineage going back to Arastook, Maine and further back even. I just wonder if you still go on to Ancestry??
