My grandfather has told me stories about the family coming over from Great Britian. I have not been able to find anymore than that.

My name is Catherine Van Duyne from Nj and under a search for my family info found my name in your search. Our Van Duyne's are from North Jersey (newark) originally and my father was John and Grandfather Samuel Van Duyne. Don't know if that helps your tree but I'd be happy to give you more info if needed. Good luck Catherine Van Duyne,

I wondered why yu would think of Cyphers as a Welsh name. My father and grandfather always told us we were German-Dutch although they played down the German and stressed the Dutch. I am making an attempt to find the research my father did in the 1970s. (or recreate it). I know the family was in the Warren County area, possibly before 1800, with ties to the Prall (Prawl?) and Hann (Hahn?) families. Will gladly share anything I find. Hope you will too.
