My Grandmother was a Lucy Augusta Cypert. I have Researched my line of Cyperts back to 1680 in France and Germany. (France to North Carolina, to Tennessee, to Arkansas, then on to Okalhoma). I am anxious to speak to any Cyperts.

My great grandfather, Anderson Tide Cypert, was born in Tenn somewhere around 1860 (I have very little info on him) but my grand father William Walker Cypert settled in the Baxter County, Ark area and was married to Lou Ella Emmett (a descendant on Robert Emmett the Irish revolutionary). W.W. was born in McPhearson, Ark 5/21/1896 and died 4/16/1979 in Borger, Tx. He's buried in Spearman, TX. Lou Ella was born in Culp, Ark and died 3/9/1981. Any info would be appreciated .. you can contact me at rbarnescpa@worldnet.att.net

Larry,
Thank you so very much for your reply. My huband and I visited Searcy and Vanburen count Arkansas last year and found that every book we picked up referenced to the Cypert family. They were very involved in Politics and the State 0f Arkansas. Yes, I also found several spellings for the last name. "Thomas Sypert, son of Francis Sypert Sr. uses the "Sypert" spelling and his children did also. The families of his brothers, Francis Jr. and Robert, changed the name to Cypert and that is what their families used." I have also seen additional spellings. I look forward to additional correspondence. My e-mail address is: dlrhoades@worldnet.att.net

I have a Frank Cypert III. b. ca 1795 NC who came to Baldwin Co. AL in the 1830s. Married Nancy Ann Whidbee (sister to my gg gf)and had 9 children. Moved to Comanche Co. TX ca 1873 and Frank died there a year later. Frank supposedly had a twin brother Thomas and a nephew Thomas. The nephew came to AL with him and died ca 1842. Frank's parents were Frank Cypert Jr. and Abigail Johnson. Any connection? Have little else on this family, particularly the descendants of Frank III and Nancy Ann. Would love to correspond with others and share.

Tracy, From my research I show a Francis Cypert III (a twin) born 1795 in Chatham county, North Caolina. He married a Nancy Whidabee, and had 9 children. Francis's father was Francis Cypert, born in 1750 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania and married to Abigail Johnson. Francis and Abigail had approximately 11 children. My Line is off of Jesse Newton Cypert, the oldest child of Francis and Abigail Cypert. I will be glad to correspond and help you with your line on information that I have. Please correspond with me using my personal e-mail address at

Anderson Cypert

Interestingly enough, in the 1850 TN census they have enumerated: "CYPERT, Anderson 30, Nancy 21, Jesse N. 6, Elizabeth 4, Nancy J. 3, Sarah 2, T T, Wy-836-647." It just rang a bell because of your Anderson Cypert, who was allegedly not even born yet. (There was no very young Anderson Cypert on the list, by the way.) This Anderson Cypert does not go back in TN to 1840, 30 or 20, and I don't have any other index.
Hope this helps.
