My family name I am researching is CAMBER, also known as CAMBO, KAMBER, KIMBER, CAMBERN, and many others. The earliest census in Vermont shows the family name as CAMBO. Oral history within the family say that we are decendants from Dutch Royalty but on one of the Canadian Census one of the brothers kept the name CAMBO and claimed German ancestery. We have no idea of what the original name was on arrival in north america and are searching for a needle in the hay stack. The only data we have is the man was named John CAMBER (COMBO) and was married to HEBORAH DATA about 1808 somewhere in Vermont. The moved on to the Standstead area of Quebec, Canada, where they lived, raised a family and died.

Due to the simularity of the first part of the name CYMBERKNOF, I was wondering if there is a slim chance our people come from your family. I know this is a needle in a haystack search, but am at a brick wall. Any help would be appreciated.

Our people are from the Silesian region of Poland. We are Jewish. I don't think this information will be helpful but I thought I would pass it along to you.

Hi I am related to John Henry Camber/Heborah Theodota. They are my greatx4 grandparents. They lived in Stratford, Orange County, Vermont. Their last child was born in the eastern townships of Quebec. Some of the descendants still live in the townships, which is where I was born.
I am curious to know about the family names you listed, the Dutch and possible German connections. We have also come to dead ends with both John and Heborah.

My name is Ariel Cymberknoh. My grandfather Jaime (Jaim) inmigrated to Argentina from Poland in the 1920s, where our last name was changed from the original Cymberknop.
I currently live in Israel, but most of the Cymberknohs remain in Argentina.
I personally don't know of any connection between our family and the Cambers.
Regards, Ariel
