Cygan (Segan) Family in Chisholm, MN
I'm looking for any information on my Grandparents. My grandfather was William Segan(formerly Cygan), who immigrated to the US from Galicia, Austria (don't know what part)in 1904 with his brother Ignatz. My grandfather was 16 (bd-04/1887 or 88)and his brother was approximately 7-8 years older. They lived in the Myers Location (I believe was the iron mines) Chisholm, MN. My grandfather William married my grandmother, Mary (Maria) Namisnik(Namisnic)who immigrated to Minnesota in 1910 also from Galicia, Austria. She was 16 or 17 when she came here and possibly worked for a family named Fagin (possibly a relative by marriage) in Stuntz, MN. I have the 1920 Census with all three together along with my mother's four older sisters Anna, Eva, Julia, and Mary. My mom wasn't born until 1922 in Chisholm. Missing years between 1920 thru 1939. (found in 1940 Census after they had moved to Detroit, MI). They may have lived in other states for a time while making their way to Detroit where they stayed until they passed away. They were of Ukranian descent and Catholic. If anyone has any information on them (especially if they know where in Galicia they came from)that they could share I would greatly appreciate it.
