I need any information concerning the Cybulski Family of Gruta, Poland. The farthest Cybulski back in my line is Jan Cybulski, born abt. 1615 in Gruta.

That is very far back. I am trying to find relatives of Francis Walter Cybulski of Providence and later of Narragansett RI.

Do you have any information on him? The immigration papers read Sibolska but this was because it was during the time that Poland had been disolved and Russia owned the territory.

I may be able to find some information, but do you have any approximate dates?

Thank you.

Francis died in Rhode Island in Feb 1981 and was born on Jan 07, 1907, I believe. I know the years are correct.

It was Feb 07, 1907.

I am almost positive his name is Frances Walter Cybulski but the SSDI lists him as just Walter.

Both Walter and Francis are very common names in my family, but there is no direct match. However, the entire worldwide Cybulski family originated in the Gruta, Poland area.
Your Francis could be the child of Francis (b.1880 Baltimore, Md.). I'm almost positive that this person comes from my family simply from the usage of the names. I'll try to find some more information.

Kurt,
My grandfather Kazmier was born 3/5/1877 and came to the states in 1893 rather than be drafted into the Russian army. He married my grandmother Apolina Usio who was from Suvalki, Poland in 1901 in a Polish church in Fall River, MA. They had 13 children. My father was one of a set of twins, of whom the other brother was named Walter. They were born in 1918.

Please see my note to Kurt. Is there any connection to your line? I do not know from which Polish town my grandfather hailed from, but you mention that all Cybulski's came from Gruta.

I think that it is possible that my Grandfather is not the Walter you are speaking of.

I know one fact for sure. The family's immigration papers stated the name was Sibolska because Poland was still not reformed yet. They came froma part that was still under Russian rule.

Thank you for replying. I am going to order my Grandfather and my Father's social security application and other documents to help me find out more.

Kurt,
I'm really just getting started with this and was very pleased to find any information/discussion at all on the site. From what town in Rhode Island is your grandfather's family?

My father's family linved in the Olneyville section of Providence. My grandfather, Kaslier, arrived in 1893, worked the coal mine of PA until the canary in his helmet cage died on top of his head alerting him to the dangers he was working in.

He married my grandmother Apolonia Uscio in a Polish church in Fall River. An affair arranged by relatives. She had arrived in 1900 from Suvalki.

Does any of this histroy match with your search?

Regards!
