John Swacus / Mary Orahoske
I know a little more information that I could provide to you on the Orahoske side of the tree if you are interested. I also can tell you some information on the children. (Which you may already know.) Did I read that they were your grandparents?

John Cvejkus/Swacus and wife Mary Orahoske
Dear JoEllen, I would be very much interested in any information you may have. What I know is that Mary was the oldest in the family and had brothers, Mike, Andy, Joe and John (John is said to have gone back to Hungary). My mother is the 13th child of John and Mary. Her name is Susan Murphy. Right now I am traveling but will be home in Pittsburgh on Thursday, May 10. What would be the best way to do this? So glad to hear from someone who knows the family. Catherine

John Cvejkus/Swacus and wife Mary Orahoske
Dear Catherine, We can communicate via regular e-mail if you are interested. I don't have a LOT of information, but I'll be glad to share what I have. Any additional information you could provide would be wonderful, also. Are you just following one or two family "lines", or are you branching out? (e.g. Are you wanting to find out additional information on the children of Joe, Mike, and Andy also?) FYI...Mike was my Great-Grandfather. So I think that would make us...2nd cousins or something? :-) Please feel free to e-mail me at: joellen@mindspring.comThanks...I look forward to hearing from you. JoEllen

I am the grand daughter of Julia Katis. I think that John Cvejkus and Mary Orehoske were her parents. I also knew of her brothers Andy and John. Her sister Sue Murphy died recently at the age of 99. She also had a sister named Helen, who passed away years ago.

Hi Eileen, I'm Sue's daughter.

Hello! I'm replying because my great grandfather's name was Joe Swacus. He married Margaret Skvarla. Please repost! Thank you very much!

Hi Eileen, I think that I am related to you via John (Swacus) Cvejkus/Mary Orehoske. In addition to Andy and John, they also had a son named David. My mother (Monica (Lucas) Archer always talked about her uncles Andy, John and Paul as well as an uncle who was killed in WWII. Can you let me know if I am on the right track?
Regards, Jeremiah Archer

Jeremiah, you are referring to my original post on the Cvejkus family. Your uncles are the sons of Dan and Anna Lucas who had eight sons: Andrew Lucas, Joseph Lucas, John Lucas, Robert Lucas, David Lucas, Michael Lucas, Paul Lucas, George Lucas; and three daughters: Geraldine Lucas, Patricia Stevens and Roberta Lucas. Roberta, the last of that generational line died October 20, 2012.
Anna Lucas is the daughter of John and Mary Orehoske Cvejkus (Swacus). They had fifteen children, seven sons and eight daughters. Their sons names were also John (three with this name), George, Michael, Andrew, Joseph. Daughters were: Elizabeth, Julia, Anna, Sophia, Susan, Helen and Eva.
So yes, you are related to Eileen who is the grand daughter of Julia Swacus Katis.
I am the daughter of Susan Swacus Murphy, sister to Julia and Anna. So you are also related to me. I'd bet your mom has heard of Aunt Sue.
I'd be interested in hearing more about you and your family. Best, Catherine Rakow
