Searching for anyone whose Cvach ancestor lived in Baltimore in the 1880s. My grandfather Josef Cvach came from Bohemia to his cousin in Baltimore before moving on to NE then SD. They corresponded for a time, but lost contact in the 1940s. I have seen an old photo of a lady who is either the cousin or the cousin's wife, was told it came from the "Baltimore Cvachs".

Your grandfather Josef Cveck may be the same as what I'm looking into. Wava Mary Shuck married a Emil Cvach. Emil Cvach census records for 1930 shows Joseph and Anna as his parents. Could this be one of the same?

Grandpa Josef Cvach's son Emil married Wava Shuck. How are you connected?

Wava Shuck is the daughter of Edgar Fenton Shuck. His father, Ephriam Walter Shuck is also my great great grandfather. My relationship to Wava is 1st cousin, twice removed (according to FTM). It's a pleasure to meet you.

Emil Cvach was my father's twin brother. Wava was my aunt. Did you know them?

Unfortunately I didn't meet Wava before she passed. I still have Shucks that live in Rapid City. Could you tell me where was Emil in 1900? I haven't been able to find the census record for them. I do have a picture of Edgar Fenton Shuck, Wava's father, your grand uncle(?). Would you be interested in writing outside of Ancestry?

Are you still interested in Cvach's? My grandmother was a Baltimore Cvach, her father was Frank, his father was Joseph. I have much info on whole family to include census records, baptismal and marriage info from their church, etc. Let me know if you are still working this thread. Better if you respond to me on email: gebright@aol.com
