My family is from Puerto Rico and were primarily from th area of Aibonito. We are decendants of Francisco Cuyar who was a Colonel in the Spanish Artillery and was stationed in Puerto Rico. I live in the continental U. S. in South Carolina and have family here and in Puerto Rico. My father remembers many stories of the family and his grandfather who was the mayor of Aibonito. They also talked about Luis F. Cuyar who was the son of Francisco Cuyar. Luis was born in Barcelona, Spain and later returned to Puerto Rico.

I think i'm related to you

Hello, my name is Jennifer Marie Cuyar daughter of Jimmy Cuyar.I'm 16, well i just turned 16 last month. For some odd reason i was just online and wondering about the Cuyar backround.I've never met my grandma and grandpa Cuyar (jims parents),but i heard that my grandmother was into "Black Magick".I guess i was wondering because in I practice Wicca (the good magick)I find peace in nature and earth as well as harmony. So please don't jump to conclusions, well for the fact i've never met but 4 cuyar's Ralondo, Mary, Jack, and my dad JIm.If you can help me learn more about "our" or so i hope, backround i would be very grateful.Thank you for your time to read a teenagers plead to know how her family is.

My family is from Puerto Rico but it arrived from Barcelona,Spain according
to a ships manifest. Our Great,Great, Great Grandfather, Luis Cuyar was a
Colonel in the Spanish Artillery and was transferred to Puerto Rico. He sent
his wife back to Spain when she was pregnant and she gave birth to Luis F.
Cuyar. They returned to Puerto Rico and he married a girl of the last name of
Carbonell. From them came my great grandfather, then my grandfather and then
my father. The name is originally from the Asturian province of Spain
according to a search I made of the lineage from the University of Madrid in
Spain.

Hi,

I am a descendant of Francisco Cuyar Gonzalez (B: early 1800s in Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain, D: maybe in 1877 in San Juan, Puerto Rico). He was married to Barbara Torres in San Juan in 1843.

Are we talking about the same one?

Thanks.
