Cuvelier Family in the United States
I have been working on the Cuvelier families that reside in the United States. I have found 4 different Cuvelier groups that I am unable to tie together. My family has grown to a data base of over 1500, dating back to the mid-1800's when they arrived in New York. Please contact if you have any infor on the Cuvelier family, to compare notes. Family lines include Davis, Myers, Meyers, McKinney and Steeley.

I have found the cuveljer, cuveljier, some with the first e others without, but never anything with a t. Are you sure that it may not be a transcription error? I have found that often that is the case. Can you give me a first name and any dates, I would be willing to check it against information I already have...Most of my research is in the United States. I have found that is where most of the changes occur. As the immigrants came here their names were hand written or there were those who didn't know how to read or write and changes in spellings occurred... Sorry I can't be of more help.

surname Cuvitjet or the like
His first name was Luis.....Cuvitjer or something like that. We have guessed he came from Spain but the accent on the "jer" or last syllable makes the surname sound French.
thanks for your efforts.

I do not have any Louis or any ancestory from Spain in my research. Sorry I was unable to help
