Wayne was my stepdad and his death was unexpected (pneumonia diagnosed on June 4, lung collapse and heart failure on June 7). I had been working to try to solve some of his gen mysteries.

"Wayne Cutler

Wayne Charles Cutler, 75, of Ridge Manor, Fla., and Lehigh Acres, Fla., died June 7 in Lehigh Acres of complications from pneumonia after a four-day illness.

Mr. Cutler formerly lived in Millersville and moved to Florida in 1992.

Born Sept. 2, 1928, in Crownsville, he attended Annapolis High School and enlisted as a seaman in the Navy at age 17. He retired as a chief gunners mate after serving from 1945 to 1975. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean and Vietnam wars.

He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Club in Annapolis and enjoyed camping, four-wheeling and listening to opera, classical and orchestral music.

In July 1995 he was married to Jane Marie Drury Bowen who died Jan. 28, 2001.

Surviving are a daughter, Robin Brady of Jacksonville, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Kathleen E. Bowen of Ridge Manor and Marlene E. Collins of Edgewater; three brothers, Raymond Painter of Glen Burnie, Robert Cutler of Staunton, Va., and Jerry Cutler of Fruitland Park, Fla.; and his companion, Audrey Mulcare of Lehigh Acres.

Services are private with burial at sea. Arrangements are by Farley Funeral Home in Lehigh Acres.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fleet Reserve Club of Annapolis, 100 Compromise St., Annapolis, MD 21401."
