Martha (Danley) "Dannely" Cutbirth 1855-1936

Martha (Danley) "Dannely" Cutbirth 1855-1936

Missouri death certificate of Martha Cutbirth states that her maiden name was Danley. Some have her listed as Martha Dannely and she was listed in one census as Dannely Cutbirth. I believe that she is my grandaunt Martha Ann R. Danley and she married Willis Ervin Cutbirth about 1871 in Missouri. I am descended from her brother Thomas Jefferson Danley.

I have reason to belive Alfred & Mary Dannely were her parents, but nothing other than 1860, 1870 census info to base this upon, (will, Bible, etc) which at this point, census info is circumstantial to me, could coincedently be different family with daughter of same name. Not the first time that has happend to me.

I have obtained copies of documents from Alfred's Civil War Pension file. Included is a Questions Circular that contains the dob of children living at the time it was completed by Alfred. The dob given for "Marthy" matches the dob on Martha Cutbirth's death certificate. The DC lists her father as Alfred Danley and mother as unknown. Her birthplace and names of siblings matches the census records for Alfred and Mary Danley so I am quite certain that this is the right family. Alfred and Mary are buried in the Liberty Baptist Cemetery north of Springfield, Missouri. I will be glad to share my information.

Here is the transcription of the questions.

Impressive marker, shouldn't be hard to find! Never heard of LB Cemetery before I seen your post, will check that out someday. Most of my family settled in the counties South of Springfield/Greene Co MO, where we are still today. I told mom, her family squatted here in the Civil War, and never got back up! Thanks again!!!

If you go to LB look to the left as you enter the cemetery and you should be able to spot it. Martha's brothers left Greene County and I've tracked most of them to various places from Wisconsin to Texas so some got up and moved around. Let me know if you want any of that info.

You wouldn't happen to have a digital copy of Martha's death certificate would you? according to my research she is my 3rd great grandmother. Her grandchild Dovie was my great grandmother.

http://www.sos.mo.gov/archives/resources/deathcertificates/ has a downloadable copy. It is a.pdf file so I could not attach a copy to this reply. Other Cutbirth death certificates can be found there as well as others who died in Missouri between 1910-1961.
