Benjamin Cutbirth b. 1738-1740
I am from the Daniel Boone line s.o. Benjamin Cutbirth and Elizabeth Wilcoxson (niece of Daniel Boone). I am searching for answers about Benjamin's parents. We know his father died when he was young and his mother remarried. Thus he set out on his own. His name changed many times starting out as Cutbeard. It is said that he was born in Augusa Co, VA. or maybe central PA. Also interested in any other Cutbirths that might be out there.

My Grandmothers mother was Lillie Jane Lewis Scott and she married a man with the last name Cutbirth and gave birth to a son named Lee Cutbirth. She owned a store in Stockton Ca. and when she died she left it all to her son Lee. If you know of Lee or any of his decendants please contact me. Thanks

Christy, I'm also from Daniel Boone Cutbirth, Dan Jr. , Eliza Boone Cutbirth m. to Jesse Gee Tudor, their son Robert Sanford Bowers Tudor m to Mary E Gilbert, and their daugher, Lucy Mae Tudor m to Newton Cantrell (Erath Co. TX. )
Cuthbert is the name of a saint and I think that is probably where the name Cutbirth came from originally.
I too am working on Benj. Cutbirth's family. Would love to learn more about his father, esp. When did he come over to the USA? From where exactly did he immigrate? England, probably.
Let me know if you've found anything new on the line. I shall do the same. Diane in MO

Re: Benjamin Cutbirth b. 1738-1740
Hi, I hope you are still working on all this. Mary Elizabeth Cutbirth is my GG grandmother. I am trying to find out who Benjamin's Cutbirth's parents are. I have him born in 1740 in Augusta, Orange, Virginia and dying in 1817 in Elk Ridge, Maury, Tennessee. Mary Elizabeth Cutbirth was living in Texas when my G grandfather, William Henry Etier, was born. Do you by chance know the sirname of Mary Elizabeth Cutbirth's mother? I have Jane as her first name and married to David Daniel Cutbirth in 1852 in Hunt Co.,Tx. Thanks for any help you offer, Leslie in Mo

Re: Benjamin Cutbirth b. 1738-1740
Nathan,
Are you saying, that Benjamin Cubirth (1740-1817) father of: Daniel Boone Cutbirth Sr, Benjamin Jr, Mary, Sarah
who was married to Daniel Boone's niece, Elizabeth Wilcockson (1749- aft 1818) is the son of Ben Cubirth and someone named Mary Boone?
If so, could you please enlighten us to this information, and how/where you obtained it? No one has had definitive ancestry for Ben (1748-1817) before this information.
Thanks and regards,

Re: Benjamin Cutbirth b. 1738-1740
I'm trying to contact a family member that is much more reliable than me on this matter .... this would be a part of the family tree that "I just don't know with great confidence" to be 100% acuarate. but on my ancestry tree (however it was imported or connected by someone else) it shows up that Ben Cutbirth's parents names (that married Eliz. Wilcoxon - Daniel Boone's neice) were, as you were asking, Benjamin Cutbirth and Mary Boone .... no dates are attached. If I'm able to find something more reliable I will let you know. My dad (now deceased) was really up on some of this and may have been the one to make this connection. sorry to get you excited - if this turns out to be wrong. many thanks for your response Nathan Graybeal Emory, VA nathangraybeal7@hotmail.com

Re: Benjamin Cutbirth b. 1738-1740
Anything is appreciated, whether correct or not. It's all a learning process! The thing that bothers me/us, is that in all of the Boone family genealogy, no one has ever turned up the marriage of Mary Boone to Ben Cutbirth before. Possible, but unlikely. The only marriage for a Mary Boone of George Boone, is a "possible" marriage to a Thomas Hope, but even that is sketchy.
Thanks again!
