I'm researching the Cusack family of Missouri and later Chicago Illinois. Steven Patrick Cusack imigrated to the US from County Mayo Ireland about 1866 and became a naturlized citizen in 1876 in St. Louis MO. Steven was married to Bridget McNaulty. Steven and Bridget had two children, George and Catherine. Bridget died in St. Louis MO in 1883 and Steven was found on the 1888 Chicago Voters Registration.

Family tradition says there was a Steven Cusack who was baseball umpire. I've found a few newspaper articles about the umpire but nothing to connect the two. Does anyone know anything about this umpire or family? Any information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Hi, are you still looking for information on the Cusacks? I'm descended from George. George Cusack's obituary said he was the founder of the Chicago Amateur Baseball Association. He lived from 1871 to 1904. You can find his death notice/obituary in the Chicago Tribune on March 20, 1904.
