Glad to hear from you again. My tree is not available but willing to share information on the older generations. Too many folks in our generation still with us.

Margaret Curtin was my great-grandmother. She was the sister of your grandfather - Timothy Joseph Curtin. Margaret married Daniel O’Keefe. He was born in Ireland in possibly what is known as Toureenduff, Cork,, Ireland from transcribed baptismal records found. One thing I did find online is that since the British frowned on the Catholic Church, the church was forced to do baptismals on the road. Because of this and since most folks in Ireland could not write/read the priest would do the paperwork. This also included the date of birth.

I have been in conservations with some O’Keefe family and also another branch (non-Curtin related) spelled O’Keeffe. They all were Jersey City at one time. Except for Margaret Curtin-O’Keefe my direct O’Keefe line does not know anyone from your line.

My wife and I had planned on a trip to Ireland and to attend the Curtin gathering but as some plans go we did not go.

Back to the Curtin family…still exploring Daniel Curtin and Hanora Quirk. I have located the cemetery plot for Daniel and Hanora. They are buried with two sons – Daniel and William Aloyisus Curtin in Holy Name in Jersey City. William did live for years with my O’Keefe family before going into the Hudson County Mental Hospital on Snake Hill in Secaucus. I believe I found the cemetery plot location for two children that died early – John and Mary – in Holy Name in Jersey City. All are unmarked.

With the exception of my great-grandmother all the 1st generation Curtin family is buried in Holy Name by records found but in different areas.

Also have been to the New Jersey Archives and do have some birth, marriage, and death records. Also I have been to the Jersey City Library and printed copies of, for the most part, obituaries when available. And, have been to Holy Name and Holy Cross Cemeteries, too.
