Do you know how your line of Cubellos ended up in Texas?
I was born in Italy in 1954. Came to New York City in 1956.
My great grandfather Luigi Calogero came to New York in 1910 my great uncle Giuseppi Cubello in the same year. They both returned to Italy but my great uncle returned. He had family an uncle who lived in Niagara Fall NY and he eventually settled. In Albany. There is a John Cubello in California who is linked to Niagara Falls. and there is another Cubello works for the US Postal Service in Southern California he has a sister in Ohio. Don't know how or if we are connected.

Curbelo/Curbello
Our line of Curbelo came from the Canary Islands (a province of Spain) in the 1700's to settle in San Antonio, Texas (part of Mexico at that time). There was another group from the Canaries that sailed to Louisiana. The biggest concentration of Curbelo/Curbello/Courville is in the Texas/Louisiana area, though some migrated on West through New Mexico, Arizona & California.
I am not familiar with the spelling of "Cubello" but it could be a variation.

My great-great grandmother was Selena Curbelo Brashear from Lake Charles Lousiana, but died in Chambers Co., Texas. Her grandfather was Eugene Curbelo, a direct lineage to Juan Curbelo.
I've been trying to find our family and where it just fell off. Grandma Selena died when she was 29 of unknown causes and took lots of her oral family history with her.
Can you help?
