Surname Possibilities: Curo, Curro, Cuqro, Curoe, Cureaux, Curow, Cugro, Cucro, Cuqrow, or Cuqroe.

Louise (Lulu) Josephine Granier was my grandmother and was born around 1900. Most likely she was born in the New Orleans area. She had a son named Pierre Brown approximately 1917. In approximately 1920 she married a man named Ernest Cuqro (born approx. 1900, died 1949) and gave birth to Rita in 1921, Roland (Rocky) in 1922, Ernest Jr. in 1924, Adelaide Marie in 1926, Leo Paul (or Leo Alfred) in 1929, and my mother, Joan Ann in 1931. Joan Ann was born in Chicago, Illinois. The older siblings were reportedly born in Lousiana and Missouri. Other family members are The family name of Cuqro was changed to Curo in the 1940 time-frame at about the time they moved to San Diego (briefly) then settled in Los Angeles.

Unfortunately, the only other information I have about my grandmother, Louise Josephine Granier, was that her parents owned a cannery in the French Algiers.

I know that Ernest Cuqro was in the military (probably served in WW1). I have no information on any of Ernest's family history.

If any of these names show up in any of your family trees please let me know.

You're my cousin!

Hey Lou, my name's Don. My dad is Rocky. He died in 1985. Do you remember me. I have sister named Patti. When my dad was still alive, circa 1983, we would go to aunt Rita's house in Whittier. I now live in La Habra about ten minutes from her. Since my dad's passing, I haven't visited them. I'd like to get in contact with you and them and see how everyone's been. How old are you? Do you talk to Glenn(Tina's son) often. Email me.

You're Right!

Yes Donnie, I definitely am your cousin and probably live only a few minutes from you. Only a few years ago I remember my wife, my 2 daughters, and I, went to a party at your sister Patti's house in the Tustin area. We had a great time. I hope both of your families are doing well. We're all okay on our side.

My wife and I have lived in Whittier since 1995 when we moved from Downey. My mom and dad also moved to Whittier last year. My daughters attend Saint Bruno Catholic elementary school on Santa Gertrudes and my parents live almost across the street from the school.

I haven't spoke to Glen or Liz recently but seen them about 2 years ago when we were invited to their house in Downey for a party. Glen's a Fireman and Liz is part owner of a Dance Studio.

I'm going to be 42 this August so I think I'm probably at least 10 years older than you. I remember playing with your older brothers Danny and ?? when I visited your dad's house in Glendora afew time in my childhood. Your dad was great, he always had a great, and may times dirty, jokes to tell - I used to love that.

You ought to come over with your family, (and invite April, Patti's and your brother's families) on 4th of July as I usually have a small pool party at my house. The Friendly Hills golf course usually does fireworks and they can be viewed right from my backyard.

Let me know what you think. I'm on 562-943-8944. Also let me know if you have any other family historical information. BTW, I noticed an error in my previous post...It was the Ernest Cuqro (or Cureau) family that owned the Cannery in the French Algiers. Also, our great granmother, Josephine Rose Granier, was married to a Gus or Gustave Granier. Wel let me know if you've got any pictures or know anything. Trust me, I know how difficult information is to come by in our family.

Is Danny still in Korea? And where's ?? (I'm sorry, I know your other brothers face I just can't think of his name...he was a couple of years younger than me.

Please pass them all my greetings!

Lou

Hi Louie...

I am John Alan Granier, born in Lynwood, Ca.. Father was Ivy Charles Granier, whose father was also an Ivy Charles, married to a Josephine Lopez Granier, both of Lake Charles, LA. Ever heard of this twig o'the family tree? It was the Josephine Rose Granier that caught my eye as I was surfing the web, and just began to wonder...
