Hi Giuseppe....
Thank you for adding your information to this message board. Has your family (and your ancestors) always come from Potenza?? Are they related to the other Cuocos now living all over Italy?
I know there are not that many Cuocos left in Italy today and am not sure how many there ever were. My grandfather, Saverio Cuoco, came to America in 1904/05. I do know that he was not an only child, but do not know how many brothers or sisters he had. That is why I was discussing Giuseppe Cuoco with someone else on this message board, looking for a connection.
Any information you can give will be appreciated.
Diane

CUOCO
Hi Diane....
Today i was thinking that I have always thought that maybe I was one of the last person in the world that has this surname and after having seen this site....I realised that I was wrong...
So my family comes from a very little village called RUVO DEL MONTE, near Potenza. In my family there are "only" 2 names....Giuseppe which is my name and Leonardo Antonio which is my father's....So my grandfather has my same name, Giuseppe Cuoco, and my father's grandpa was Leonardo Antonio too...And so on....But in RUVO DEL MONTE there is another branch of the Cuoco's which is not related to me...I'm sure that in this area there are only two families Cuoco....But I have no idea about the Cuoco's in the USA....
As soon as I come back to Ruvo, because I study in Milan, I'll try to have more news about my relatives because there is the possibility that I'm related with some american Cuoco....
I would like to know more info about the american Cuocos....BYE

Read your posting about your Cuoco family. My name is William Cook I am from Patchogue, LI NY. My Great Grandfather was Joseph Cook (Guiseppi Cuoco) from naples who changed his name. He left my Great Grand mother ( I belive Maria Vietri) and moved away. He had a Brother I think...named John or Giovanni. Any connection?
