Richard Thomas Ferries Cundall
Richard Thomas Ferries Cundall married the daughter, Beatrice (Betty) Mary Edis, of my Great Aunt Beatrice (Bee) May Hayward.
For the family book I am writing about my Grandfather my Great Aunt and their twelve other siblings I would like to hear from anyne who knows this family.
Beatrice (Betty)May Edis had a sister, Sybil Maie Blundell who married the film star Reginald Owen and took the stage name, Billey Edis Owen. She had another sister Audrey Vera Blundell. Both from their mother first marriage to Ernest Charles Blundell.
From their mothers a second marriage to Herbert Edis there was a son Reginald Herbert Edis and the wife of Richard Cundall, Beatrice (Betty) Mary Edis.
Any information would be most welcome.Peter Hayward

Re: Richard Thomas Ferries Cundall
Ernest charles Blundell was my great uncle, his brother George Agustus Blundell was my grandfather. I do not have any great information as Ernest died before I was born and my father has only vague memories as he was only very young at the time when he knew Ernest's daughters. Sadly I think most documents and photos etc. would have been lost when Ernest's second wife Marjorie Ruth Masters died in 1981 as the cottage they lived in just outside Western-Super-Mare was sold to pay for her hospital care and I beleve the contents were simply disposed of. I do remember it being quite an aladins cave of family memorobillia and it was a great sadness to my father that all this was probably distroyed.

Re: Richard Thomas Ferries Cundall
Thank you for replying to my query. If you would like copies of all the photographs and information I have on Ernest Charles Blundell and his family please let me know. I would still like to know about his other daughter Audrey Vera Blundell. The only information I have is that aged 24 she traveled to Vigo in Spain in January 1933 giving her occupation as an actress. peter.hayward34@ntlworld.com

Re: Richard Thomas Ferries Cundall
Hello. I was just having a late-night search and found your message. My 2nd cousin, Tom Cundall, was Richard Thomas FArries [not Ferries] who, sadly, died in 1969, not long after I came to live in London.
Tom and his brother, Jack, were born in Kingston upon Hull [as was I] My late Mother, Emily Maud Fawdington [Cundall] was their 1st Cousin. Her Father and Uncle were brothers.
Tom was very much a part of my childhood, having lived in Hollywood in the late 30s and 40s, with Betty and their son, Peter. They would come up to Hull, particularly at Christmas, and Tom would regale us with stories about the stars he had met, which probably ignited the flames of interest in Films for my brother and me.
Betty and I remained close until her death, around 12 years ago. She was a Showgirl in the West End, and very beautiful as a young woman.
Reg Owen wasn't exactly a Star, but a well-known character actor and part of Hollywood's English Community. He was with MGM for years and appeared with just about every major Star! His final roles were as the Sea Captain in 'Mary Poppins' and the Officer in 'Bed knobs and Broomsticks'.
Peter and I haven't met for years, although we still exchange Christmas cards. He is in his mid-70s.
I am now 65 and at that stage in life where I do searches for information, photos, etc., of Family and Friends - from time to time. I wish I could remember, more clearly, all the stories and history of Mum's Family. They were so very different to Dad's - Eccentric, to say the least! Fascinating, too.
Anyway, I'll leave it there, for now. Nice to remember dear Tom and Betty, as they were known - and I never knew that Betty's given name was Beatrice!
Kind regards. Philip
