Hello Sandy, I am Paul and I have spoken to you before. I would hope to see your Cumberland family info. My grandmother was midwifed at birth by one of the Cumberland female decendants in 1879 in Washington DC. The Cumberland family geneology my grandmother handed down to us was complete from 1795 up until about 1860. The census records confirm many details of our geneology papers as does some early maps of Washington DC. Paul

Hi Paul. I knew a lot of my great aunts/uncles and second cousins who have told me so much about my family.I have always kept a lot of that information as I was growing up which I am so glad I did. I still have second cousins in Virginia that I'm always calling and bothering :) and even now I am learning even more! I also used ancestry.com to disect the census and and I wrote or emailed to churches/communities in England where the Cumberland's all lived in Wysall for so many decades. Also Willoughby on the Wolds. We had such a wonderful large family and so many have passed. My second cousin, Jean, who was Aunt Mable's daughter just passed away in Virginia 2 weeks ago. She was a wonderful dear person. I saw in the message board that someone had a CD on our family and I just wish I could get that to see what was on it. I also want to get more pictures. I'm going to go visit my cousing "Flick" nickname of course, in Virginia soon because he knows so much on my grandfather Morgan family! I'm having a difficult time getting any further on that. I am also going through the history books during the time that our family lived in certain places to get a better view of what was going on during that time. when I first started doing this, my grandmother used to tell me that she and her 2 sisters used to live on an ark and when I started digging I found out that her "poppa" was a ship builder and my cousin said they did live on the ship at one point when her parents separated. it's all just fascinating to me! I am also doing to go back at some point and revalidate everything to make sure I'm on point with the information too. I hope this helps.

Hi Paul,
My husband and I actually went to the cementary (very small, quaint, but beautiful cementary) and saw the stones. It makes it all so real to us when you actually see it. I want to get as much information as I can so I can make a book for all of my relatives. Would you be so kind as to send me a copy of the death certificate you received for John Cumberland? My email address is: oceanmoonite@yahoo.com. Thank you so much.
Sandy
